Approximately one Saturday per month we will convene a bicycle ride originating at the Village Green and visiting one of the Southland\u2019s remaining Googie coffee shops; ride distances may vary from 10 miles to as many as 80 miles, depending on the restaurant\u2019s location. A bicycle ride, a good breakfast, and lively conversation in a friendly environment make a fine way to start the weekend; and I am glad to take the opportunity to look closely at exemplars of Googie architecture to better understand how they were designed.
